Introducing Palringo

I have been waiting to do this for the last 17 months! This week is announcement week and today, for the first time, I get to reveal Paxmodept's involvement in an awesome mobile project. The first of many I hope!

Palringo

Palringo has a strap line of "Vocal Instant Messaging" but I think it is so much more than that. I think of the Palringo application as a mobile communication centre, an easy and inexpensive way to keep in touch with your world while on the move.

Check out the Palringo website and the images below for details but Palringo is basically a multi-media and multi-channel mobile communication power tool. There are multiple versions of the application: a PC version, a Windows Mobile version, a Symbian S60 3rd Edition version and a Java ME version.

Paxmodept were responsible for creating the Java ME version. :-)

Key features include:

* Text messaging
* Push-to-talk voice messaging
* Picture messaging
* Supports groups
* Asynchronous offline messaging
* Bridges to all the main IM networks
* User status and availability
* Ability to view message history
* Manufacturer and operator independent
* Works across a wide range of devices
* Supports multiple languages

Tomorrow I will discuss a new killer feature of the Palringo service, one which I think will well and truly blow the competition out the water. In the meantime you can download a development version of the application by pointing your mobile browser at palringo.mobi. You will also need to register for an account on the Palringo website. Please be gentle with us as this is still in active development. ;-)

VERY, V E R Y, V E R Y COOL ! ! !

You guys get it. This is Jaiku on steroids.

Like the tabbed interface to organize data vs. types, similar to ideas I have had.

Well done guys...

Jason declares...

Thanks guys. :) We had a great client on this project so we were lucky.

And thanks for pointing that language issue out to us tamberg. We have been looking at that same problem for months and haven't noticed.
