I spent most of this week making the dashboard of our provisioning platform timezone aware. I had never done this before so it was all new territory for me and it was pretty tough. I searched around the web but didn't find any useful tutorials so I guess there isn't a standard way of doing this. Ensuring all dates are displayed correctly for the user's timezone in the JSP pages was pretty easy but getting all the reports out of the database by datetime category (day / week / month) while taking the timezone offsets from UTC into account was harder than I thought and took quiet a bit of trial and error before I got it right. I'm glad thats over!
