Twitlet: A Java ME Mobile Twitter Application
We finally finished our Java ME (J2ME) interface for Twitter. You can try it by pointing your mobile browser at the following URL:
mobile.paxmodept.com
It should work on most phones but it hasn't been tested thoroughly and looks a bit crap on small screen sizes. Leave a comment if you have any problems.
The Twitlet logo was created by our friend Daniel Matthews who is one of the proprietors of Whomp! FM. Thanks Dan!

Hi All,
Please be aware I will respond to each comment left here via email if required.
Many thanks,

Thanks for your comment on Techscape, Jason. I've just done a post on Twitlet at our new Twitter blog, www.twitterati.tv - really like the app, worked first time for me!
Thanks Stu! Much appreciated,
Trying it out on my Blackberry 7130e. Loads fine, enter uid and password fine. Clicking login and exit do nothing. Ideas?
It looks like some network operators don't like how the username and password are encrypted for the Twitter API and change it somehow when going over the air and validation fails. Sorry, not sure at the moment on how to resolve this one but we are investigating.
Hey, only English posts are ok. Can you implement Unicode or something to correct post with Russian?
Nice little app! Can I get it to remember my username & password, or do I need to re-enter it each time I start the app?
Hi Paul. Thanks. It should remember your username and password. What phone are you using?
Nice app, but updates with contain especial caracters not update, and for read, the caracters will not be displayed. Hugs and sucess.

Hi, Why do you force people to use their phone to go to the site? Wouldn't it be better if we could download the java files and send them over a USB link? (I've hacked my motorola to allow this) because then it saves GPRS charges!
Hi, are there faqs for this app? As I was not able to figure out how to tweet @ replies from my phone.
I like the colour scheme tho, big fan of blue :)
Hi Urmi,
I'm not a regular Twitter user but you just need to add the @name in the text box don't you?
Cheers,
J
It works great! Have N95, didn't have a tiny problem with it. Running in less than minute. Great application. Many thanks.
Hai! I just wanted to let you know this app is absolutely great! It works perfectly, and I'm totally in love with it. Didn't have any problems with it. Thank you so much! :]
I love the interface for this app, definitely the best I've seen for J2ME, but could we have a few more features?
It would be nice if links in tweets were 'clickable', so you can visit the link in the mobile browser.
An option to 'reply' to a tweet would be great too. So it automatically puts @username in front of the update. Maybe add the option to 'favourite' an update too.
Keep up the good work!
Wow. Thanks SO MUCH! This is the best Java Twitter app to date. (: I love it.
This is by far the best Java Twitter app!! Love the simple interface :-)
Only the option to be able to do a reply tweet is welcome!!
I love the look of the app but am having trouble getting it to run on my Nokia 6500 Classic. Whenever I try to login I get the following message: 'Connection Error. Server unable to respond.' (other twitter apps are still working).
Vic, are you on Vodafone UK?
PS - new version coming soon. :)
Wow what an awesome way of accessing twitter on the go from a low end phone. Never knew of this, I think i've got something to explore now.
I only recently made a post on top 5 twitter applications to be used on all phones - also works on java based phones.
With these apps you can view your @replies, retweet, click on links within updates...You might want to check that out at http://www.javamobilecrunch.com/2009/07/5-smashing-twitter-applications-to-keep.html
Just what I was looking for! Runs perfectly, with all the functionality I needed but nothing unnecessary :) I'm using an LG KP500 (Cookie)
Hi Guys
Nice app works the best of all the ones ive used for Java based apps. Just one question I have a Samsung Tocco and was wondering if you be incorporating touch screen into the app at any point in the future. I find it a little difficult to scroll through with only the arrow options.
Did I miss it or isn´t there any option to add a photo to your tweet=
this wont work on my samsung genio :( i cant find any twitter app that does
i'm interested to use it. But where i can download it. Because i've visited the link above, but i found no download link.
Thanks.
